At the beach

Jory's not a big fan of sea gulls. Or pigeons, for that matter. So imagine his glee at the beach this weekend when we came across a big flock of sea gulls, just minding their own business at the water's edge.


The sea gulls, on the other hand, were not pleased.

Virtual preschooler

At a party in Silicon Valley, Jory got to experience virtual reality for the first time:



At first he explored a photo of the Red Sea, with coral and rays and fish and other fun stuff. Then he checked out Paris, which he's visited in real life.

It was fun watching him interact with the system. Like him, I felt a bit dizzy while using the system, but it was certainly interesting!

Daddy and Jory played hooky today to celebrate daddy's birthday! Breakfast at Stacks with a surprise whipped cream+fruit salad and candle, then we went to the space center in Oakland.

We went to a New England lobster restaurant for my dad's birthday and Jory got up close and personal with one of the lobsters:
