Jory's new hat

Jory's staying in the shade wearing his new hat at daycare!

Kick kick kick!

Mommy unfortunately got sick this weekend, just when the weather turned awesome... Luckily for Daddy and Jory, the neighbors set up their pool so Jory donned his new swim suit and we went over for a dip.

Jory loved the body board; perhaps a future surfer in the making?

Our neighbor Jeremy introduced him to inner tube water fights!

Life is hilarious

Jory's life is screamingly funny -

When it's not tragic, that is ....

Horsey take 2

I've gotten word that the Horsey video isn't working for everyone, so here's another go:

Horsey

Jory really enjoys perching on KC's shoulders and gripping his hair:

The Huang Men

Here are a few nice pictures we took of Jory and KC last weekend.

Mangez le chat?

This is Jory's big-boy plate for when he graduates to eating at the dining room table.
He already eats apple sauce, and he's had a taste of cow, flowers, and chicken. We'd like to avoid having him eat le chat though; India and Zanzibar are already jumpy when he's around!

The B tracks

Thanks to digital technology, we get lots and lots of great pictures of Jory.

Of course, we also get those not-so-great ones. Here are a few from the weekend.

Make sure the bizarre facial expression doesn't distract you from the giant line of slobber hanging off his chin:

Do I laugh? Cry?

Seriously, Mommy? Another picture? [KC's not looking so hot in this picture either ...]

And now a few melt-down pictures:

Stripes

Now that Jory can sit up (mostly) on his own, we've installed the baby bumpers to keep him from cracking his gigantic head against the walls of his crib. It's worked so far ...

As you can see, he still loves his sea creature flash cards - especially the sea horse!

The echo of the clothing and the bedding was an accident, but it made for some nice pictures!

Tummy time

This morning we thought, "What a nice day! Let's take some cute pictures of Jory!"

We ended up taking almost 250 pictures! We've cut about half of them due to poor focus and the like (it's really hard to keep a baby in focus!), but we should have lots of pictures for this blog in the coming days.

Here are some goofy ones of Jory in his pajamas from this morning's tummy time session.

Bananas: A fish-eye view

KC bought us an Olloclip to have better photo capabilities with our iPhone cameras.  We tested it out yesterday, while Jory doing a test drive of his own: bananas.

I think we can draw two conclusions from these photos. First, Jory really really likes bananas. Second, you can use any kind of lens you want to photograph a 6-month-old, but what you really need is a high-speed camera. Or patience until he falls asleep.

Jory eats E. coli

... and seems to like it!

Pre-vaccinations

Jory had a rough day on Tuesday - vaccinations! Unfortunately they made him super cranky and a little feverish, so the rest of the day was not good. But we got some cute pictures of him before going into the exam room ... it looks like he may need another haircut already!

An apple a day

The vegetable of the week last week was apples. What can I say? I made what I had.

Fortunately, he seems to like them:

And given his recent vaccinations, I'm sure Jory would appreciate having a way to keep the doctor away!

Remembering why

We think Jory's started teething. It's awful suddenly having an angry baby who won't eat.

So it's good to be able to remember why we're going through all this!

Yo quiero el taqueria!

Well, to be honest, mommy and daddy love it - it's close to day care, and this one's hidden in a supermarket, so we can kill three birds with one stone.

In the course of one short meal, Jory managed to flip my salsa all over my enchilada, dump the salsa remnants onto the table, and fling his stuffed hippo onto the floor about 10 times ... immediately jamming it in his mouth when we gave it back to him. [sigh] That hippo was eaten by a dog the next day, so I guess it must've tasted good.
