Hello moto!

Jory and Tia Emma went to the toy store yesterday and Jory found his third favorite thing (behind basketball and choo-choos, of course).

En Garde!

A few weeks ago we went to visit our goddaughter and her parents out in Merced. One morning Jory discovered her wooden swords, and then discovered that he has the heart of a swashbuckler.

As you can see from KC's facial expressions, not everyone was as enthralled with the swordplay as Jory!

A trip to the beach

A few weeks ago our neighbors invited us to join them on a trip to the beach at Half Moon Bay. So we hit the sand on a typical Northern California beach day, where everyone was bundled in wind jackets and the fog eventually made it hard to see the waves a few meters away.

We had a picnic:

KC and Jory built a sand castle:

Jory discovered a disembodied head:

And everyone got very sandy!

Yaaaarrr, education!

During our recent trip to visit Jory's grandparents in Milwaukee, KC and I took Jory to the Milwaukee Public Museum. It was the last day of their big pirates exhibit, which we didn't see, but we did take the opportunity for a pirate-related photo-op. Oddly, this pirate reminds me of my grandfather:

Then we took Jory to the butterfly garden, which is always lovely. KC managed to attract a butterfly so Jory could get a closer (non-grabbing) look:

For the last few weeks Jory and I have been catching moths near the Menlo Park library, so even though he's got a vocabulary of about 70 words, one of those words is "moth."

Thanks to Jory's grandparents for encouraging us to visit the museum!

What is Jory's favorite word?

You should know after watching this video:

This will have Tiffany's post about him watching this video make more sense. He loves to watch this video, and anticipates most of the events that occur, including the cough halfway through. Man, this kid loves himself.
