Silicon Valley Comic Con

Jory and I got tickets to the Silicon Valley comic con, and there was a LOT of photo ops!

Lots of Star Wars...

 (the K2SO is made of paper!)

... NASA ...

... and Avengers!

Even some microbiome-related gear!

Jory also got to play TMNT on NES - he didn't quite have the hang of how to hold the controller...

March for Science!

Jory and I went to San Francisco for the March for Science on Earth Day, and Jory wore one of Heidi's resistor headbands...

... sometimes in non-traditional ways :)

Jory had lots of fun at the Civic Center, where there was a jungle gym with an incredibly high density of children:

And Jory to make a piece of quilt that is going to be sent to children around the globe. He was told to make something nice for Earth Day, so he made a bear, thinking about a sun... and what's that pencil drawing to the left? Yep: it's Darth Vader!

Trip to Berkeley for a birthday party

We drove up to Berkeley for a birthday party, and Jory read his Magic Tree House book the whole way up...

At the party, there was a very friendly squirrel... with an orange!

We then went to nearby Tilden park with a narrow gauge kids train:

 

On our way back from the train, we stopped at a cool lookout with a tree trunk that had been painted completely.
