Jailbreak!

A few weeks ago I caught Jory doing this in the morning:

We're going to be in a lot of trouble when he figures out how to escape!

These are a few of my favorite things

In this video, Jory demonstrates his two favorite things: himself and balls.

And yes, he's wearing a hair clip. He had crazy hair that day!

Little jet-setter

Two flights of five hours each bookended our trip to Hawaii. Jory has flown quite a few times before, so we knew he was going to be very unhappy about sitting still.

We were right. On the way to Maui, Jory was so horrific that we coined a new term: OGG, referring to a baby that's really, really pissed off about everything. Yes, we were those parents on our flight. That's right. The ones with the child who screams non-stop for five hours. We knew his ears weren't bothering him - he was just mad.

We all got lucky on the way home, though. Thanks to KC's frequent flier status, we sat in the Economy Plus row with extra leg space. And even better - there was no one sitting in the seat between us! KC's recently implemented this strategy to try to minimize the chances of someone sitting in our row. So Jory got his "own" free seat and was able to play on the floor. Plus, KC had coupons for free gin and tonics, so everyone had a good flight (making me another kind of that parent).

Here's a little movie of Jory enjoying himself on the plane:

Jory loves looking in the mirror

Somehow we have raised a little narcissist. Daddy's storage on his phone is almost entirely occupied by movies of Jory admiring himself. Here are a couple of my favorites...

The Hiller Aviation Museum

Jory has been enamored with planes flying overhead, often leaning his head back and shouting "BYYYYEEEE!" at the plane while waving like crazy.

So, I thought it would be fun to take him to the nearby Hiller Aviation Museum. As it turns out, he freaked out when we went inside the cockpit of a 747, and also when we sat down in a helicopter:

However, he loved the kiddy play area; here's a much smaller cockpit (and check out his awesome pilot jacket!):

and here's a plane that's more his size, where he's figured out how to start the prop!
