My mother used to like to take "me-at" pictures, which are ... well, about what you'd think. Very specific markers of a place or time. Here are a couple of examples from my childhood (and yes, there's a lot going on in these pictures!):
We took advantage of a trip to see a recent astronomical phenomenon to get a similar picture:
As you can see, Jory was far more interested in eating his sling than viewing the transit of Venus. Oh, well - let's hope 2117 is kinder to 105-year-olds than 2012 is ....

Those are great photos of the Vora family from back when. I had never seen them before...
